Tony Caramanico

“I saw what was going on around me and I wanted to capture it”. Tony Caramanico is first and foremost a surfer and a nomad. His art came by way of honoring his passion for surfing, and the life that came with it. Caramanico collaged, scribbled, painted, taped, and pasted excerpts of his travels into a collection of diaries that chronicled his daily life within the world of surfing beginning in the 1960’s. These diaries record a life exploring the grand beauty of nature and the world's vast oceans. The Montauk based American artist’s work showcases an authentic passion that spans a lifetime, and allows us an intimate glimpse into the world of surfing through memorabilia.
