Jonah Freeman & Justin Lowe

Jonah Freeman & Justin Lowe have been collaborating on films and large-scale architectural installations since 2007. Their signature form of spatial collage has produced several interconnected projects that explore the connections between counterculture and industrial society. Fiction is often employed as a means of uncanny distortion in the depiction of specific social/historical environments. Their joint practice has led to acclaimed exhibitions at Aros Aarhus Art Museum, Denmark (2020); Marlborough Gallery, London, UK (2019); Museo Maat, Lisbon, Portugal; Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen, Denmark (2018), Ballroom, Marfa (2008); and Art Basel Unlimited, Basel, Switzerland (2013),  15th Istanbul Biennial, amongst others. Jonah Freeman was born in 1975 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Freeman graduated from the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University. Justin Lowe was born in 1976 in Dayton, Ohio. Lowe received an MFA from Columbia University, New York. The artists currently live and work between New York and Los Angeles. Freeman & Lowe's work has been widely featured in publications such as the Financial Times, Forbes, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Wallpaper Magazine, Huffington Post, Artforum, W Magazine, Architectural Digest, and New York Magazine.
