Mathias Kiss

Parisian designer Mathias Kiss’s artistic practice is situated around reflection on and questions about past and future systems of housing design. His work is built around timeless stylistic references and experimentation, effortlessly combining traditional craft and with contemporary experimentation and materials. Since 2009, he’s been designing sculptural objects that are based on these codes of living and habitation. Related art objects and in-situ installations that Kiss produces explore larger environments and our perception of time and space. His Froissé Mirror confronts these ideas most literally—an intricate fold-and- crease system that is infinitely multiplied given the reflections of the mirrored surfaces.
